Calling All People

So you get up one morning and you are going through your normal routine.  You check the mail and you see a letter that says nothing but "Important."  You open it and realize you finally got the calling from God you were waiting for...   NOT!!!!

So you're out running around doing chores one day.  You know, just typical groceries, bank, and bills.  Then all of a sudden you hear a big booming "Darth Vader" voice from out of nowhere.  Finally you realize you finally got the calling from God you were waiting for...   NOT!!!!

People tell me they want to come to the Lord, they want to serve the Lord, but they are waiting for a call to be used of God.  They get upset because they never get one.  If you are waiting for one of the above scenarios, you may be waiting a long time. I'm not saying God can't do those things because God can do anything he wants to do, but I know God has already called you.  YOU JUST WEREN'T LISTENING!!

This "calling from God" is one of the most clever things Satan has ever done.  He has great men and women everywhere waiting for a call from God.  He even makes some think in order to be saved you must have a unique or unusual experience.  Man waits for these things while Satan is rubbing his hands together with an evil grin like Wile E. Coyote setting a trap for the Road Runner.  I want you to notice that men who teach such things are usually ignorant of great Bible truths.  More often than not, they are seeking monetary gain.

I want yo to know God calls man to do His work by His Word. 2Ti 3:16,17  God's Word will equip you for every good work.  What separates the hard working person in the Lord from the person who does nothing is not a special "calling" it is desire.  Deep heart felt convictions are built up from a serious and diligent study of God's Word.  The desire to be submissive and obedient to Lord produces action in this person's life.  They act on those convictions.  This person speaks up when error is taught, comforts those who need comforting, and have a zeal to reach the lost.  Ps 119:139

The person who waits for a sign does so in vain.  They are just laying out fleece blankets like Gideon. Jdg 6:36-40  Gideon's fleece was not an act of faith.  Rather, it was a lack of faith.  If you have a burning desire to tell others about Jesus, begin to do whatever you can.  You put in the effort and allow God to supply the power.  If you have a desire to reach the lost prepare yourself to do so with a Bible study.

Consider this final thought.  Before David fought Goliath God had prepared him by allowing him to fight a lion and a bear. 1Sa 17:36  David had the courage to face Goliath not because he felt he was "called" to do it, but because God had prepared him ahead of time when David successfully met the bear and lion.

Today, don't wait for the fleece to get wet.  God has already made the first move to call you in the form of Jesus. Jn 3:16  The Lord is not willing that any should perish. 2Pe 3:9   Study the Word diligently to show you have the ability to handle the Word. 2Ti 2:15 .  Then God will bring bears and lions into your path.  All the while preparing you for the giant in your life.  That is what God has called you to do.  Don't sit at home with a fleece and expect to get right to the giant.  That is what Satan is calling you to do.

WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

Hear The Word-  Rom 10:17; Acts 4:4

We Must Believe or Have Faith-  Heb 11:6; Acts 16:31

We Must Repent-  Lk 13:3; Acts 17:30

We Must Confess Christ Before Others-  Mt 10:32; Acts 8:37

We Must Be Immersed Into Christ (Baptized)-  1Pe 3:21; Mk 16:16; Acts 2:38

We Must Remain Faithful-  Rev 2:10; Acts 14:22
